The other day I saw a post from Upworthy where a french graphic designer created the Gluten Free Museum where works of art, tv and movie scenes etc are re-created devoid of bread and wheat.
So, basically it was a bunch of images with no food in them…. My odd mind started thinking “Hmmmm there is now room for a Pork Roast in that painting” and other thoughts. Those who know me, know I love messing around with Photoshop so I decided to further this series of art calling it the “LCHF for LIFE” series.
Enjoy and share 🙂
Hi I think the bit you missed in these old photos and paintings you have photo shopped. Is that they come from times anti grain followers consider the golden years of health before the 1960 plus modern diet of low fat and wheat products.
So if pictorial evidence from this time suggest high use of carbs in wheat etc.
what’s the problem then?
Those photoshop changes are great. But then my lchf ideas where shocked as i noticed those old paintings. With all the food on the table carbs and wheat.
All the lchf sites say we got sick in the last 60 years from such a diet which is not what we used to have. But the hundreds of years old paintings here suggest that carbs where a bit part before the modern diseases like duabetes.
Its made me very confused.
There are many factors involved here. Modern strains of “super” wheat. Extensive processing and refining. Modern methods of cooking (regular baking vs proper fermented sourdough for example), not to mention the absolute abundance of available wheat, grown, harvested, ground and used by modern industrial methods, making it INCREDIBLY cheap, therefore it gets used in almost everything that is a “staple” in most peoples diets. I still believe grains, whether traditional/ancient, or modern super varieties are not the best things for us to be eating.
Sarah thats a good point. When you research diets from early neolithic times to now grain products was about 70% of diet as in the above renaissance art. Except for the very rich who could afford a higher protein diet.
Seems we only got allergic to gluten since the internet was invented. Lol
